Hours of work

37.5 hours per week (hours of work will be flexible and dictated by the needs of the business, therefore it is expected that the successful applicant will work those hours necessary to successfully discharge the duties of the role).

The Role


This is a fantastic opportunity to be instrumental in developing and leading a team of field-based BDMs in the equity release sector. You will coach, mentor and assist your team in identify new business opportunities. This role involves conducting face to face appointments with your team and helping to set the required standards. You will be expected to always represent Pure Retirement in a positive and professional manner and will be expected to ensure your team hit all their KPI's and targets.

You will also work extremely closely with other area of the distribution team, and you will be expected to help the telephone BDM team work effectively as possible with the field based team.

Key Outputs

  • Lead a high performing BDM team
  • Conduct monthly 1-2-1's and appointment observations
  • To possess a strong understanding of the company's products, the competition in the industry and our marketing proposition.
  • To work closely with the marketing team to help develop and run campaigns for their team
  • Work with the product team to identify new market areas
  • To not only push and develop new business for Pure Retirement but promote equity release as an industry and work with our key partners within the mortgage industry to build equity release.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly KPI's based on activity and quality.
  • Ensure that all activity is accurately documented and kept up to date in the CRM system.
  • Be an active part of the sales leadership team bringing new ideas and sharing best proactive
  • Work closely with the Telephone BDM team to ensure all advisers get the service and support they require, liaising on diaries events and appointments to ensure any opportunities are pursued.
  • To work closely with the National Account Manager to cover our specialist advisers within your panel, promoting Pure Retirement, gathering feedback, and providing product and criteria training where necessary with individual advisers.
  • To be an expert in diary management and organisation
  • Report writing to analyse team and business performance
  • To work closely with the Sales Operations Manager, National Account Manager, and the marketing department, to bring the face-to-face and telephony representation of Pure Retirement together in a collaborative manner.
  • To be constantly looking to review on current sales processes to ensure we are delivering an optimum performance

The Person


The role of a National Field Sales Manager is varied, no day is the same. The person must be outgoing, confident, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly this person must be able to lead and inspire a team to deliver results. This person must be self-motivated and goal oriented with a passion for developing their team.

Skills & Experience


  • Proven track record in similar responsibilities
  • Management experience
  • Experience in a field-based role with large amounts of travel
  • Knowledge of the industry and financial services experience.

  • Experience dealing with mortgage networks and clubs
