Hours of work

37.5 hours per week (hours of work will be flexible and dictated by the needs of the business, therefore it is expected that the successful applicant will work those hours necessary to successfully discharge the duties of the role).

The Role

Overview

Pure Retirement are looking to breathe new life into the Financial Services Industry, with technology being a key part of achieving this goal. This will require hard-working and motivated individuals with a passion for creating robust, testable and maintainable solutions which enable the business to achieve its targets.

As Junior Software Developer at Pure Retirement you will be confident supporting projects through the development process using your technical skills to best effect while growing your knowledge of new technologies, best industry practices and agile team work.

Key Outputs

  • Delivering additional functionality to existing bespoke systems based on business requirements and specifications
  • Supporting new projects based on business requirements
  • Troubleshooting existing bespoke systems
  • Researching new technology and techniques with the support of the Technical team
  • Maintaining a high quality of work by participating in a peer-reviewed agile culture.

The Person

Overview

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic with a demonstrable passion for software development. You will be adaptable to business requirements and enjoy the challenges associated with software development, from learning new languages, frameworks and patterns, to maintaining and updating existing code-bases, taking guidance when needed and presenting your own ideas to the rest of the team.

As a Junior Developer at Pure Retirement you will be given the opportunity to work as part of a skilled team of software developers, delivering and supporting bespoke solutions within the Financial Services sector

Skills & Experience

Mandatory

    Platforms and Frameworks:
  • Experience of an OO language e.g. C#, Java
  • Web technologies HTML, CSS, JS
  • SQL based data access
    Design Principles:
  • OO Design principles
    Methodologies:
  • An understanding of agile methodologies

Desired

  • C#, ASP.NET
  • Version Control systems
  • Mobile Development, Android, iOS

Qualifications

General Education

  • Computer Science related degree, or equivalent industry experience
